Fiat gets new name and new logo

Fiat has announced that it is going for a slight refinement in its image, and to such ends has undertaken a renaming programme and icon redesign.

Up until late June 2007, Fiat's official name had been Fiat Auto (UK) Ltd. However, from now on it will be known as the Fiat Group Automobiles SpA.

Together with its old logo being given a makeover for a shiny modern look, Fiat believes that this move "will promote better relations with the sales network, customers, and partners."

Four other companies were also created by Fiat Group Automobiles SpA. These are: Alfa Romeo Automobiles SpA, Fiat Automobiles SpA, Lancia Automobiles SpA and Fiat Light Commercial Vehicles SpA.
