Ford celebrates excellent September sales

2007 has been a bumper year for Ford, with sales topping the charts for the 07 and 57 registrations in March and September.

According to Ford's statistics, more than 70,000 people will be searching for Ford car insurance after buying one of its 57-plated models last month. However, in all, more than 25,000 Fords have been bought in the first nine months of 2007 alone.

The S-Max, Galaxy and C-Max were the Fords which have grown fastest in popularity this year, with the new Mondeo also demonstrating a very strong start, accounting for 35% of September sales. The Focus continues to enjoy life as the UK's most popular car.

A spokesperson for Ford said: "Our sales performance in 2007 proves the strong consumer appeal of Ford's model line-up, as well as the hard work and commitment of our dealer network.

"Especially pleasing is the growth in our retail market share, which confirms that our models are winning over more customers from rival brands while securing the loyalty of existing customers."
