Car insurance quote cost could be reduced by course
Research conducted by moneysupermarket.com has shown that motorists in the UK are far more likely to elect to take a speed awareness course rather than have points placed onto their licence. Avoiding receiving a high car insurance quote seems to be a big priority in the UK.
According to statistics published by the well-known comparison website, more than 70% of road users would opt to take the course if they were caught speeding.
A spokesman for the company stated that he was not surprised by the results as he said that motorists who speed can potentially see an increase of 17% in their cheap car insurance premiums for the first offence alone.
"It is no surprise that course option is proving to be the most popular. Insurers clearly take a dim view on policyholders who speed and this is reflected in higher car insurance premiums," the spokesman explained.
The report was published after the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) recently claimed that more and more young drivers are being forced off of the road due to higher car insurance quotes.
Choosing to take part in the course could not only help to keep an offender's licence clear, and aid them to find low cost cover upon renewal, but hopefully will also lead to them being better educated about the risks of speeding and result in a reduced number of accidents of British highways.
