Insurance for car increases as ice covers roads
Insurance for cars is at risk across the nation this week as the Met Office has warned motorists to expect icy roads following the weekend's heavy snowfall - with light snow showers expected to continue tonight.
While the weather is forecasted to become warmer this week, the Met Office is reminding drivers that early morning commuters need to be wary about the threat of ice on untreated roads.
With the increased risk of accidents from the adverse weather, car insurance claims are likely to be at a high while the icy weather continues.
A duck2water spokesperson gave this advice: "If you have to drive, make sure you take extra precautions - take warm clothing and food with you in case of breakdown and leave plenty of room between you and the car in front to allow for extra breaking time on icy roads."
With car accidents on the rise, insurance for car premiums are likely to increase as more claims are made and no claims bonuses are lost.
