Consider a personal number plate for Valentines Day
When purchasing a personalised vehicle registration plate, an issue that needs to be factored in is insurance for car drivers.
In the run-up to Valentine's Day, the DVLA has unveiled a new online tool to make it easy for lovers to select the ideal number plate for their partners.
The DVLA claims it always receives a high level of interest in personal plates around the popular lovers' feast day. Apparently, about 20 per cent of registrations are bought as gifts.
As a result, it has set up a new style search on the DVLA registrations site to help partners choose number plates that are that extra bit special.
Although perhaps not that cheap, number plates available to buy include MR09 MRS, MY09 LUV or even K155 - and there are plenty of registrations with a row of Xs representing kisses!
Motorists choosing a personalised plate need to contact their insurers and notify them of change of registration so that their insurance for car drivers remains in force.
