More people look for car quotes online than home cover
While many motorists are happy to hunt around online for cheap insurance for cars, homeowners are failing to do the same.
In a survey of drivers who went on to the internet to look for vehicle cover, only seven per cent bothered to find better deals for their home insurance.
That means a massive 93 per cent of people have been failing to compare house cover prices and products using the web. This is despite checking cheap car insurance via online insurers and comparison sites.
According to Confused.com, it is possible for householders to choose great home insurance policies that suit requirements while achieving substantial savings. Money saved last year per policy was as high as £185 for some home owners.
Only 44 per cent of home owners had reviewed house insurance policies in the past five years, survey research revealed.
At the same time, the survey found about 65 per cent of motorists shopped around using comparison sites to search for cheap insurance for cars.
