New motor insurance quote comparison service launches

Tesco has revealed that it is launching a motor insurance quote comparison service to help UK drivers get the cheapest car insurance deal.

People can log on to http://www.tescocompare.com, fill in their details once and get online car insurance quotes back from a number of major UK car insurance firms.

The results can then be sorted by price and more than 25 other policy features, such as legal cover, courtesy car and voluntary excess, making it one of the few companies to compare car insurance quotes in such detail.

A spokesperson for Tesco Compare said: "Our customers have been telling us they want more help in choosing their motor insurance. They want more than just the usual 'shop around' tool for insurance premiums.

He continued: "We have placed great emphasis on the fact that our site not only compares price but also looks at individual policy features to allow users to make sure they are getting the right policy for them."

He went on to reassure customers that the motor insurance quote that they are presented with by Tesco Compare is the price they would pay by going direct; there are no extra costs.
