Musician motor insurance quotes to match librarians
The car insurance firm Adrian Flux has announced that it intends to end the practice of giving musicians a higher motor insurance quote on the basis of their job, simply on their driving history.
Commercial director of the Norfolk firm Gerry Bucke announced that "It's perfectly possible to give affordable cover for almost any type of musician - even ageing rockers. And at the same price as that for bank managers, librarians and accountants."
The recent news that changing music in the car - whether swapping CDs or radio stations - has perhaps some bearing on this, as it shows that car insurance company workers recognise that playing music in the car may carry more risk than playing musical instruments outside it.
A spokesperson for Duck2Water said, "It's clear that a musician with a good record of safe driving deserves a cheaper motor insurance quote. Perhaps this is a sign that the status quo is changing in the car insurance industry?"
