New online car insurance quote service launched
Norwich Union is moving off independent price comparison websites for car insurance quotes, deciding instead to serve customers with its own web and phone service.
Competitor prices will be available as part of the new online car insurance service for customers looking for motor quotes - but this information will be provided on the norwichunion.com website.
It will be possible to check car cover against a total of 140 firms that supply insurance. Norwich Union claims people looking for quotes will be able to make "objective decisions" about the range of available car insurance policies.
"The truth is no insurer is cheapest all of the time; the difference is we will tell customers when we are and when we are not," said Norwich Union's marketing director, David Tyers.
If customers prefer not to proceed with Norwich Union car insurance quotes that are displayed, they can choose to purchase policies from competitors by clicking on to another website.
