Success for online car insurance brand owner

The company behind one of the first online car insurance sites has entered the top 100 of the London Stock Exchange.

Admiral Insurance is behind online car insurance brand elephant.co.uk, women's car insurance provider Diamond, and the UK's favourite comparison site Confused.com. Considering this pedigree, it is not surprising that the Welsh company has proven its success in the Stock Exchange.

The First Minister said: "The Admiral Group is believed to be only the second Welsh-headquartered company to be in the Index since its inception in 1984, and the first with its main operations in Wales.

"This is a fantastic achievement for a company that was only established in Cardiff just 14 years ago. This is a real home-grown success story and proves that businesses in Wales really have the 'can-do' attitude to succeed and believe that the sky's the limit."

He went on to explain that the cheap car insurance company's success could be put down to "skilful management, a committed workforce and by providing customers with the service they want."
