New online car insurance site thought to be in the pipeline
It is believed that Tesco Personal Finance has joined up with the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) to launch an online car insurance price comparison site.
The success of other comparison sites, such as moneysupermarket.com and confused.com, in driving down the cost of motor insurance and other financial products is thought to be the impetus for the move.
However, as yet there are no details about the possible online car insurance website, with both Tesco Personal Finance and the RBS remaining tight lipped about it.
An RBS spokesperson said: "We look at a huge range of potential products and services all the time.
"I cannot confirm or deny whether we are looking at this option."
