Safety advice helps online car insurance customers

Motorists in the Worcestershire region could see a price-drop in online car insurance after listening to police advice about opportunist thieves.

Following police warnings to keep valuables out of sight from thieves, crime in the area has dropped with 51% fewer satellite navigation systems being stolen in the last six months. The number of stolen laptops from unattended motors has also dropped by 49%.

A police spokesperson said: "It is heartening to see that more and more drivers are taking our best advice and not giving opportunist thieves any chance to undertake what can sometimes be less than two minutes activity."

Commenting on the story, a spokesman from Duck2Water Car Insurance Services, the online car insurance provider, said: "It's great news to see that motorists are listening to police and keeping their valuables out of sight. In the future, this may even have a positive influence on motor insurance quotes."
