Online car insurance company reveals favourite quotes

One of Churchill's famous quotes has been voted Britain's favourite, according to online car insurance company swiftcover.com.

In a survey to mark its new website swiftquotations.com, the UK motor insurer discovered that most Brits tended to pick out Winston Churchill's 'Success is not final, failure is not final: it is the courage to continue that counts' as their favourite quote.

A spokesperson for the cheap car insurance firm said: "It's fascinating that some 60 years later Winston Churchill's words still capture Britain's imaginations - his resilient nature seems to appeal to the British psyche."

In second place in the swiftcover.com survey was 'And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years', which was said by Abraham Lincoln, whilst James Dean's 'Dream as if you'll live forever, live as if you'll die today," came in third.

The online car insurance provider's representative continued: "A few famous wise words can sometimes spur us on to improve what we do and achieve. The swiftquotation.com service is a daily email of free inspirational or funny quotes that we hope will give people a little life in their busy lives."

Other favourite quotations came from notable figures such as Mahatma Gandhi, Lord Acton, Bertrand Russell and John Lennon.
