Man avoids losing cheap car insurance after his Jaguar is found

A man from Winchester has got back his beloved Jaguar and avoided making a claim to his cheap car insurance company after the Daily Echo featured his plight.

The owner of the Jaguar XK120 roadster was devastated when thieves stole it from outside his house in Fishers Pond, Hampshire in May 2007 while he was on holiday.

He was beginning to think he would not see his distinctive white car again after ten days passed, but was very pleased when he received notification that the police had found it at a farm in Hampshire.

He said: "I'm delighted - it was as a direct result of publicity in the Daily Echo that I got the phone call. I'd really given up hope."

He had already sent his car keys and documentation off to his cheap car insurance company, but is now awaiting them back as he no longer needs to make a motor insurance claim.

He also said: "PC Ged Traynor from Twyford station was excellent. He worked for 15 hours on the bank holiday Sunday arranging the car's recovery and arresting a man."
