Motorists drive without car insurance in 2007
It has been revealed that some people chose not to buy car insurance policies in 2007 because they were too expensive.
A recent study by Sainsbury's found that as the cost of living rose between October and November 2007, some people opted out of buying insurance to cut down their expenses.
The findings showed that 4.7 million didn't buy home contents cover, 4.3 million said they hadn't taken out travel insurance and 1.2 million admitted to driving without motor insurance.
A spokesperson for the online car insurance provider said: "Those people finding it difficult to afford insurance due to the rising cost in living need to ensure that they shop around for the best cover because this can dramatically reduce the price."
