Pothole warnings would be worthwhile for car owners
Confused.com, a website which has helped many people find insurance for car deals, recently began a campaign to introduce a pothole warning sign for drivers.
Representatives of the website found that over three quarters of the motoring community would like to see these signs being put up all across the country.
People are reportedly angry with the lack of action taken to highlight the dangers posed by potholes. Many drivers have made car insurance claims after accidents that have occurred along poorly maintained roads.
The chief marketing officer from Confused.com said, "Currently the UK's road signs include warnings for wild horses, wild animals, cattle and even toads but potholes aren't considered worthy enough?
"A pothole road sign is a vital step in preventing accidents and reducing insurance claims whilst road maintenance continues."
He went on to say that the pothole problem could be solved, in the long term, by repairing the roads. However, Potholes.co.uk recently claimed that the English and Welsh authorities would take over a decade to complete the maintenance task, even if they were given an increased budget.
In related news, individuals keen on keeping insurance for cars cheap by keeping their no claims bonus intact have been advised to take care while driving along the B643, not far from Morpeth. There are apparently more potholes on this stretch of road than any other in the UK.
