Potholes risk drivers lives across the UK
The growing numbers of potholes on UK roads being faced by car insurance customers are putting lives in danger.
Kwik-Fit, a motor vehicle repair specialist with a network of premises across the country, has warned that potholes are like mines in the road that could lead to accidents.
By having to take avoiding action to try to safely navigate many pitted, dangerous carriageways, Kwik-Fit say the hazards are endangering motorists' lives.
A company spokesman said, "With motorists having to pay so much attention to minesweeping the road ahead, the worry is they aren't focusing enough on the everyday, expected motoring hazards."
The consequences of a crash on a potholed road could be considerable, possibly leading to death or serious injury and claims on motor cover that are likely to force up the cost of car insurance rates - cheap or otherwise - at renewal time.
