Speeding Lancashire locals complain when caught
Lancashire drivers have recently complained that the operative of a mobile speed camera is using sneaky tactics to catch them out. They complain that this will affect their motor insurance quote if they are found guilty of speeding.
The driver of the bright yellow vehicle, that carries the speed camera equipment, regularly sets up at the same place in Walton-le-Dale where he parks behind a wall. He has told locals there is nowhere else safe to park.
An angry local said, "I told him that was a load of rubbish."
The Lancashire Partnership for Road Safety, who operate the cameras did not wish to comment, but a police spokesperson remarked that the "bright yellow" colour of the vehicles used made them "visible".
A Duck2Water spokesperson said, "Presumably locals should know the speed limit for this particular area and, therefore, there is no excuse for them to exceed that speed whether or not a camera is in use. Speed restrictions are used to maintain road safety; if drivers break speeding laws they risk much more than just an increase in their motor insurance quote."
