Cyberdome may bring Toyota car insurance prices down

Toyota have announced their development of a high-tech driving simulator that will help them to introduce traffic accident-reducing active safety technology. Every cheap motor insurance company in the UK will now be watching this equipment, as it could have a positive effect on Toyota car insurance.

Located in Japan, the simulator comprises a dome with a full 360-degree video screen, a collection of motors to tilt and pitch the floor under precise computer control, and a real car on the seven-metre diameter floor. This produces a faithful replica of the experience of driving that Toyota's R&D team can observe.

The resulting data will be used by the research team to improve safety systems to minimise the effects of accidents on Toyota cars, and to produce active safety technology that minimises the chances of being in an accident.

If the company does produce features that make their cars compare favourably for safety with their rivals', then it is very probable that a Toyota car insurance company will be able to offer cheaper motor insurance quotes.
