Online car insurance firm reveals UK is an expensive place to drive
A survey by a motor insurance firm has revealed the UK is one of the most expensive places to drive in Europe, highlighting the importance of getting a cheap online car insurance deal.
The research was carried out by Prudential Car Insurance and looked at all elements of expenditure on cars, such as motor insurance, repairs, tax, fuel, tyres, parking and depreciation.
The cheap car insurance firm found that the average Brit will spend £485 every month on their motor - that is 15% more than drivers in countries such as France, Italy, Germany and Spain.
Philip Southgate, spokesman for Prudential Car Insurance, commented: "You know how much your insurance is every month but that knocked wing mirror, tyre change or parking charge all add up.
"We Brits love our cars and every time we make a journey, we unknowingly add a little more to the monthly cost."
