UK car insurance customers welcome council news

New safety measures to be implemented on a dangerous road in Lanarkshire will go a long way towards reducing the risk of motorists claiming on their UK car insurance policies for road accidents.

Road safety campaigners living in East Kilbride are celebrating after receiving the news that a potential danger spot will be made safer thanks to the council.

A council spokesperson said: "The news the council has agreed to install a pedestrian refuge island in the vicinity of the Murray/Livingstone Drive junction is long overdue and will make it easier for residents, especially the elderly, to cross the road safely.

"It will also act as a speed reducing feature by narrowing the available road width for passing vehicles."

A spokesperson for Duck2Water Car Insurance Services said: "This is great news for UK car insurance customers living in the Lanarkshire area who are worried about the safety of certain roads. By reducing the risk of road accidents, the number of possible motor insurance claims will also be reduced."
