Cheapest car insurance goes to US military

Some of the cheapest car insurance policies in the United States could be available to military personnel, according to web news outlet onlinenewswebsite.com.

Where British providers' car insurance quotes have tended only to favour low-risk drivers and safer, slower vehicles, their counterparts across the pond acknowledge the sacrifices made by members of the US armed forces with a significant cut in prices.

"Several insurance companies offer certain perks and privileges to customers based on their profession," said the CEO of one such company, Insure4USA. "Military personnel ought to be aware that they can get discounts."

"The status of a military professional will determine the amount of discount he or she can enjoy," he added. "Those on active duty, retired personnel, and those that are part of the reserves are entitled to different discounts from insurance providers."

For those on active duty, the most significant factor from an insurer's point of view is the likelihood of emergency deployment, either at home or internationally - and what such deployment will mean for the policy holder's driving habits.

Accordingly two standard conditions, relating to the storage and transport of affected vehicles, are included as an ‘emergency deployment contract clause' in most military-specific policies.

Providing both conditions are met, says Insure4USA, US army, navy and air force personnel could be in line for some of the cheapest car insurance in the country.
