Online car insurance scheme allows US drivers to get cheaper quotes

An unusual online car insurance scheme from America is allowing people to get cheaper motor insurance quotes.

ForAnu.com is a site which allows users to share information about their car insurance policies but without entering any personal details. Motorists can then use others' information to see whether they have got a good deal on their motor insurance or whether they should try other sources.

Amol Jadhav, co-founder of the online car insurance site, explained: "People are frustrated with automobile insurance companies, each claiming to save hundreds of dollars.

"ForAnu doesn't sell any policies, but only acts as a meeting place for automobile insurance customers who want to gain from each others' knowledge."

Reviews of motor insurance providers are also available on the website, allowing potential customers to find out about the pros and cons of a company's service before taking it up on a cheap car insurance quote.

Amol Jadhav went on: "Websites like ForAnu.com are a strong positive indicator of customer generated business leads.

"Automobile insurance companies in the long run will be forced to come up with no-strings-attached offers to gain and retain the trust of customers.

"Of course, it is a long way to go. Every long voyage must start with a single step, like this one."
