Opportunity for Yorkshire drivers to protect cheap motor insurance quotes
Yorkshire motorists are being urged to save their cheap motor insurance quotes by going on a driving course which will teach them how to handle wintry road conditions.
The course, arranged by North Yorkshire County Council, is designed to get motorists driving more safely on snow and ice, as well as to build confidence for those who do not usually dare to drive in the conditions.
John Everson, who has organised the Hambleton-based course, said: "As the days get shorter and the weather deteriorates, driving can be a very frightening prospect - especially if you are going it alone.
"This course is a fun way of meeting people, building confidence and learning some important skills that might one day save your life. Armed with the knowledge and training this course provides, even if the worst happens to you and you're in an accident, you'll know what to do about it."
Further courses specialising in skid control and anti-lock braking will also be available for successful participants, although these will be based near York.
Corrine Aldous of cheap car insurance provider duck2water Car Insurance Services said: "As the course is totally free, it sounds like an excellent opportunity for Yorkshire drivers to brush up on their motoring skills and avoid a rise in their motor insurance quotes next year."
