Volkswagen Group vehicles to be covered by cheap car insurance from Zurich

It has been announced that the Zurich Insurance Company is supplying cheap car insurance for five car brands within the Volkswagen Group.

When an Audi, Skoda Auto, SEAT, Volkswagen or a Volkswagen Commercial Vehicle is purchased new, Zurich will provide free car insurance for a week so that the car can be driven away immediately.

At this point, motorists will be given the option to purchase brand-specific car insurance - such as Audi car insurance or Volkswagen car insurance - from Zurich.

The cheap car insurance which is offered has been described as a 'market leader', featuring replacement child seats, personal injury cover and enhanced personal belongings cover, and much more.

Graham Wheeler, Volkswagen Group spokesman, said: "We felt that it was necessary for us to be able to offer the drivers of Volkswagen Group vehicles one of the best services and most comprehensive motor insurance products available in the market.

"With this in mind we conducted a major review of the market and our previous products and concluded that Zurich would be the right organisation for us to work with."

This comes following the news in December 2006 that the BMW Group has formed a similar partnership with Eagle Star to provide cheap car insurance for BMW and MINI owners.
