Online car insurance site reveals loyalty tactics
An online car insurance price comparison site has revealed that more insurance companies are offering discounts for loyalty.
Moneyexpert.com has found that an increasing number of firms have set up money-off deals for customers who purchase more than one type of policy with them. In such schemes, drivers can make up to a 10% saving on online car insurance and home or other insurance if they are bought from the same company.
Just some of the firms offering this kind of discount are Norwich Union, Direct Line, Egg, Virgin Money and Churchill, although there are several more offering similar deals.
With an increasing number of people regularly switching motor insurance provider to get the best deal, it is likely that this strategy is being employed in the hope that customers will stick with the same provider.
The chief executive of Moneyexpert.com said: "Loyal customers who buy a range of policies from an insurer are being rewarded and that's to be welcomed.
"It can make sense to put all your business with a company if you value the customer service. If customers like and trust an insurer then the firm can afford to offer discounts and it is encouraging some are doing so."
