Post Office focuses on online car insurance marketing

The Post Office has employed a search conversion agency to improve its visibility for online car insurance.

Tamar, which has also worked on sites for other motor insurance companies such as Direct Line, Saga and Churchill, is to optimise the Post Office's car insurance website.

If successful, its search engine rank will be boosted and it will start appearing higher in Google results for terms such as "cheap car insurance" and "online car insurance".

A spokesperson for Tamar said: "Leading retailers, financial services organisations and travel brands are beginning to understand the importance of a joined-up approach towards search engine marketing.

"In online marketing terms, the focus is shifting from sheer quantity of leads to better-quality ones, and turning a greater proportion of those into customers."
