Tesco offers up to 50% motor insurance discount for named drivers

Tesco Car Insurance has announced a potential 50% named driver discount that is being made available for both its off- and online car insurance customers.

This discount, which varies between 30% and 50%, can be claimed by motorists who have been a named driver on a Tesco Car Insurance policy but are now getting their own motor insurance.

The degree of discount will be determined by the length of time that the driver has been a named driver with Tesco, starting with a minimum of one year.

Whilst some reductions on Tesco Car Insurance are only available to online car insurance customers, such as £50 cashback, this one can be claimed over the phone as well. It also applies to both Tesco Car Insurance and Value Car Insurance policies.

A spokesman for Tesco Car Insurance commented: "Motorists now have the opportunity to buy car insurance that suits their lifestyle and rewards them for their loyalty.

"Our customers can expect a full range of benefits from us and that's what we are offering."
