VW Golf
The VW Golf is a hugely popular car and has won numerous awards, including Best Small Family Car at the 2007 WhatCar? awards. Its well-laid out dashboard, spacious interior, comfortable seats and reasonable mpg (if you take it easy, anyway) make long distance drives in this hatchback a real pleasure. However, it isn't the interior or the comfy seats that make people choose the VW Golf over other models. It is the sheer joy of driving this wonderful piece of engineering that has swayed the hearts and minds of driver after driver. Its quick, responsive drive and excellent handling make the Golf a real winner amongst those who adore motoring.
VW Beetle
The VW Beetle, on the other hand, has found a place on drives and in garages across the UK thanks to its super-stylish looks. Built as a successor to the classic VW Beetles of the 60s, it certainly has been a success. Despite being tagged as a bit of a 'girly' car, there are quite a few men out there who are proud to be listed as the main driver on the VW's car insurance policy.
The most VW Beetle owners will tell you that the fuel economy of it isn't the best but hey, there are much thirstier cars out there and good motorway driving will return a decent mpg rate. VW Passat
The VW Passat is another award-winning Volkswagen, triumphing in the 2007 Towcar Awards and again in the What Car? Best Family Car category. Good-looking and powerful, there aren't many motorists who would shy away from the chance of getting to drive the Passat as their family car.
Its comfortable seats make it ideal for longer journeys and are apparently very comfortable for taller drivers. Whilst it gets a pretty decent fuel economy, motorists do warn that this isn't as great as Volkswagen would like to make out. Owners of the Passat do rave, however, about the good amount of space that this stylish estate provides.
